Size, shape and ink for shop stamps

Retail packaging ranges from smooth card to soft tissue, and each surface takes ink differently.

Shape

Circles and ovals suit logo stamps on bags and boxes. Rectangles suit return addresses and returns slips; tiny circles, hearts or stars suit loyalty cards.

Size

Loyalty marks of about 12 to 18 mm fit most card boxes. Bag and box logos commonly run 40 to 60 mm, and repeat patterns on tissue look good at 25 to 35 mm. Return address stamps are often around 47 × 18 mm.

Ink color

Dark inks show best on kraft. Your brand color works on white bags. On tissue, press lightly and let the ink dry before folding, or it will transfer to the product.
