Blank round stamps, also called blanc round stamps, are circular layouts with an outer ring for text and an open center you fill with a logo, initials, a date or a short word. They are a flexible starting point for company seals, address stamps, maker's marks, craft stamps and digital seals on PDFs. Because the structure is already balanced, you only need to decide what goes in the ring and what goes in the middle.

Round stamp seals were used in the ancient Near East alongside the better-known cylinder seals, which were rolled across clay. In medieval Europe, many wax seals on charters and letters were round, with a name or title running around the edge and an emblem in the center. That ring-and-center arrangement is still the basis of most round stamps today.

A physical has five main parts:

1. Stamp face: the circular rubber, photopolymer or metal plate that carries the design.

A smaller circle holds fewer characters in the ring, so shorten the text before shrinking the font.

• Metal (brass or zinc): long-lasting and used for embosser dies.

1. Center alignment: place the main element, such as a logo or initials, in the middle for symmetry.
2. Margins: keep 2–3 mm of clear space inside the border so nothing is cut off.
3. Typeface: serif fonts suit formal seals; sans-serif fonts suit modern looks.
4. Hierarchy: put the most important text, such as the company name, in the outer ring, with secondary details like a city or year in the center or an inner ring.
5. Ornaments: small stars, dots or lines between the start and end of the ring text close the circle neatly.

2. Ink: dye-based inks dry quickly on paper; pigment inks last longer; solvent inks work on non-porous surfaces.
3. Alignment: use a grid ruler or tape guide for repeated impressions.
4. Pressure: press evenly in the center without rocking.

• Cleaning: wipe plates with a soft cloth and mild soapy water.
• Ink pads: close self-inking units after use so the pad does not dry out.
• Storage: keep stamps in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
• Replacement: replace pads at the first sign of fading, and re-mount plates if the adhesive weakens.

• Uneven impressions: use a flat surface and even pressure; a thin mat under the paper can help.
• Ink bleed: try a quick-dry ink and blot excess ink first.

What is the difference between a blanc round stamp and a regular round stamp?

What size should a blank round stamp be?
