Personal registration seal
A circular seal for permit and construction drawings, with your name and title around the ring and the number in the middle.

LEAH M. TAN LICENSED ARCHITECT No. 12345 Renewal: ___/___/____
Engineering, building and property
An architect’s stamp tells a plan checker who is responsible for a drawing, and a status stamp tells a builder whether to use it. Make both in our online stamp maker: open one of the custom stamp templates, add your registration details and download artwork for drawing sets, PDFs or a rubber stamp.

Choose a template further down to load it, or type straight into a blank stamp. Practice logos drawn in CAD or Illustrator are often already vector files; you can convert an SVG logo into a stamp and place it on your practice or status stamp.

The registering body decides the wording, and the rules vary a lot. In the US each state board sets its own seal format; in the UK and India the law protects the title itself. Check your own register before you design.
Match the register entry exactly, middle initials included.
Example: Leah M. Tan
Use only the title your registration gives you. In the UK only people on the ARB register may use it in business; in India, only those registered with the Council of Architecture.
Example: Licensed Architect
The number from your state board, council or professional regulator, written in the format it uses.
Example: Reg. No. CA/2014/12345, Council of Architecture
Some US boards want the state name and a renewal date on the seal. California, for example, lets you leave a blank for the date or print it.
Example: State of California · Renewal ___/___/____
For the office stamp rather than the personal seal: the name clients and contractors write to.
Example: Tan Mensah Architects · 8 Canal Row, Springfield
Permit offices usually want a signature and date with the seal; Philippine permit checklists also ask for PRC and PTR numbers.
Example: Signature: ______________ Date: ________
Drawings move through several stages before anyone builds from them, and each stage deserves its own clear mark. Each sample below can go into the editor as a starting point.

An architect’s seal sits in a crowded title block. Status stamps need the opposite: to be seen from across a site cabin.
Registration seals are mostly circular; California requires a circle. Status and approval stamps read better as rectangles with ruled lines.
Seals commonly fall between 1 and 2 inches (25 to 51 mm), the range California sets. Status stamps for A1 or ARCH D sheets can run 70 × 30 mm or larger so they show on a reduced print.
Black for the seal, since it copies cleanly. Red suits PRELIMINARY or SUPERSEDED, but give it a heavy border too, because red can fade to pale grey on mono scans.
A clean sans-serif, generous letter spacing on the ring and a write-in renewal space at least 6 mm tall, so a pen fits.
Keep the seal plain unless your board allows more. Your practice mark belongs on status, project and correspondence stamps.
Much of the stamping now happens on screen, with paper still common on site and at the permit counter.
Place the seal in the title block of each sheet, or add a stamp to a PDF when the authority accepts electronic submissions in that form.
An issue status on every sheet makes it clear which drawings a contractor may price or build from.
Approval stamps on printed layouts record each decision before the design moves on.
Stamp site instructions and observation notes with the practice name and date.
Check your board’s wording, shape, size and renewal-date rules.

Type your name, title and number, set the size in millimeters and compare it with your certificate.
After the free preview, download SVG or EPS for CAD title blocks, a transparent PNG for PDFs, or DOCX for specification documents.
Usually your registered name, the title Architect or Licensed Architect, your registration number and, in some US states, the state name and a renewal date. Follow your board’s published format.
UK practice does not rely on a personal seal as US states do. The law protects the title rather than a seal design, so a practice stamp with your name and ARB registration is a sensible option.
Commonly 1 to 2 inches (25 to 51 mm). California requires a circle in that range; other boards set their own limits.
Yes. Export SVG or EPS for crisp linework, or a transparent PNG at 10x. If you later need a different size, you can resize a stamp image without redrawing it.
SealsDigital makes the digital file. Send the SVG, EPS or PDF to a local stamp shop; the online rubber stamp creator articles explain what they usually ask for.
Designing and previewing are free. Exports cost $2.50 for PNG, $2.90 for PNG, SVG and EPS, or $3.50 for all six formats. Unlimited plans are $15.90 a month, $119 a year or $299 lifetime, and subscribers keep designs in My Library.
