What to put on a doctor stamp
Copy the wording from your registration certificate so the stamp matches what a pharmacist or insurer can look up.
Name with title
Your name as registered, with "Dr." in front. Initials for middle names save space.
Example: Dr. Jane Smith
Qualifications
Degrees in the order usual in your country. Two or three abbreviations fit on one line.
Example: MBBS, MD (Internal Medicine)
Specialty
Helps the reader route a prescription or referral. Use the title your council recognizes.
Example: Consultant Cardiologist
Registration number and council
The detail people check most. Name the issuing body and your number, for example a state medical council in India or the GMC in the UK. Check what your council requires; some set the format.
Example: Reg. No. 12345, State Medical Council
Clinic or hospital
Tells the reader where to send results or questions. Add the department in a large hospital.
Example: Riverside Family Clinic
Address and phone
One short line with a number a pharmacist or colleague can call.
Example: 12 Park Road, Springfield · Tel. 555-0100
Signature line
A blank line beside your name. The stamp identifies you; the signature is still yours to add.
Example: Signature: ____________________

Size, shape and ink for a doctor stamp
A doctor stamp has to stay readable on thin prescription paper, carbon copies and scans.
Shape
Rectangular stamps suit prescriptions and forms. Round stamps suit clinic seals with curved text; an oval gives long hospital names more room.
Size
A prescription stamp of roughly 50 × 20 mm to 60 × 25 mm holds four or five lines. Round clinic stamps are commonly 38 to 42 mm. Measure the space on your form first.
Ink color
Blue stands apart from black print, so an original is easier to tell from a copy. Black reproduces best on faxes and scans. Skip the aging effect on clinical paperwork.
Font and legibility
Use a plain font and keep the registration number at least as large as the address. Avoid script fonts; a pharmacist needs to read every character.
Logo or symbol
A clinic logo or a Rod of Asclepius fits the center of a round stamp. Avoid the red cross emblem, which is legally protected in most countries.
Where doctors use the stamp
One digital stamp file works on paper and on screen.
Prescriptions
Stamp handwritten prescriptions, or place the transparent PNG on your printed prescription template.
Certificates and forms
Fitness-to-work, school, travel and insurance forms often ask for the doctor’s stamp beside the signature.

Frequently asked questions
What should a doctor stamp include?
Usually your name with "Dr.", qualifications, specialty, registration number with the issuing council, and the clinic name and phone number. Check what your medical council requires.
Can I use the stamp on digital prescriptions and PDFs?
You can place the transparent PNG on a PDF report, referral or certificate. Whether a stamped PDF counts as a valid prescription depends on the e-prescribing rules in your country.
I already have a rubber stamp. Can I make a digital copy?
Yes. Press it on white paper, take a sharp photo, and use the tool to extract your stamp from a photo. You can then rebuild it in the editor with crisp text.
Can I order a physical stamp from my design?
SealsDigital creates the digital file. Export SVG, EPS or PDF and send it to a local stamp maker for a self-inking or rubber stamp. Our online rubber stamp creator articles cover what stamp shops ask for.
How much does a doctor stamp cost?
Designing and previewing are free. A single export costs $2.50 for PNG, $2.90 for PNG, SVG and EPS, or $3.50 for all six formats. Unlimited plans cost $15.90 a month, $119 a year or $299 for lifetime access, and subscribers can save designs to My Library.
Can I make a bilingual doctor stamp?
Yes. Add a second text line in another language; Arabic and other right-to-left scripts are supported. Check the spelling of your name against your registration documents.
Do dentists, pharmacists and nurses need different stamps?
Dentists often show a dental council number; see the dentist stamp maker. Pharmacies usually add premises and license details, as the pharmacy stamp maker explains. For compact name and registration stamps, try the nurse stamp templates.
